Toyo Gakuen University Homestay English 2008 Midterm Exam Study Guide

The midterm exam is on Wednesday, the 12th of November 2008. The midterm exam will have 3 parts:
Part 1: Vocabulary.
You must know the following words and phrases from your textbook:

• perplexing
• willing
• expression
• intimate
• inquire about
• transition
• curiosity
• affection
• dialect
• widen one’s horizons

Toyo Gakuen University Homestay English 2008 Final Exam Study Guide

The final exam is on Wednesday, the 9th of July 2008. The format will be the same as the midterm exam. The final exam will have 3 parts:
Part 1: Vocabulary. Study the vocabulary using wordchamp
Part2: Multiple choice questions about Units 7 - 12 in your textbook.
Part3: A short paragraph answer type question based on the videos below. You will be asked to:

1. List 2 good points about each homestay
2. Choose which homestay you'd like to do.
3. Give 3 reasons for choices.

Today we are going to learn useful English for cooking. Many homestay families are interested in Japanese food. It's a good idea to teach them how to make a Japanese dish. First, let's watch a funny video about making sushi. What mistakes is Baka Tono making?

pour - move liquid from one container to another

serve - give food to the people who will eat it
