Toyo Gakuen University 応用英語1-3A Writing Lesson 2

Hey there! Great news. The authors of our textbook have sent us a message. Click the link to see it.

Today we will:
  • practice typing by playing a cool game called Qwerty Warriors
  • review old vocabulary and learn new vocabulary using smart.fm.
  • open and save a word document
  • brainstorm
Brainstorming is a great way to get ideas. It's a great way to start writing too. Click here to read an explanation of brainstorming in Japanese: ブレインストーム

Sometimes we brainstorm by drawing a picture. Look at the picture below. This is a picture I made. It has words, phrases and sentences about me!

OK, let's start. Let's review some old vocabulary. Click this link: 基礎英語 ステップ2
Now, let's open our textbooks to p.4. Let's start brainstorming.
Finally let's reply to Mr. Curtis Kelly and Ms. Arlen Gargagliano.
Please post your reply below.

  19. Dear Mr. Stout and students,
Thank you for these notes! To Ai O., I LOVE Japanese food, and am learning how to make some things. I can make miso soup, and okonomiyaki (spelling?!) but not too many other things. Here in New York, Japanese food is very popular. To Rie, I don't know too much about Japanese music. Who do you like?

Thank you again, and I look forward to seeing more messages!
    Warm regards,
    Arlen Gargagliano

  20. Hello!

I'm Ms. Hitomi Sakamoto, an English teacher at Toyo Gakuen University. Mr. Michael Stout is my great colleague. I admire his PC skills for being connected with people from all over the world.
Ms. Gargagliano, I really appreciate your warm wishes and your quick reply. I'm glad to know that you like and even cook Japanese food. Your spelling of okonomiyaki is just right!
Regarding Japanese music, do you know a Japanese artist Ms. Hikaru Utada? She lived in New York and her English is great.
We'd appreciate if you could send us a message again when you have time.
    Best and warmest regards,
    Hitomi Sakamoto
